The program initially focused on water and energy but is now expanded to reduce waste, carbon dioxide, and air emissions. In fact, in the next five years, Ford has projected that it will reduce carbon emissions by almost 500,000 metric tons worldwide! For the eighth year in a row, Ethisphere Institute included Ford on its list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies.

The leaps forward are startling. The Ford Escape and Focus are more than 80 percent recyclable. Materials that can be salvaged include steel, iron, aluminum, copper and non-ferrous metals. Ford’s Fumes-to-Fuel system burns fumes from paint that produces electricity at certain plants that produce the Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.
