We always get excited when we hear about a new model or package that’s coming into the market. We were all ears when Ford started announcing plans to release a compact truck model, we were excited when we heard it would have a standard hybrid engine, and we were thrilled when it finally was released. As car companies work to provide better vehicles and add in technology, driving assistance, and unique features, there’s more and more to talk about, especially when it comes to America’s favorite vehicle, the pickup truck, produced by America’s favorite truck manufacturer.

You know if you’ve ever searched for a “Ford near me,” a lot of what pops up is the Ford F-150 and even the Ford Ranger. Now, Ford has a smaller yet still exciting truck in the market, the Maverick, and it’s going to get even better with the introduction of the Tremor Off-Road Package. Why is this package an exciting edition for the Maverick? Well, here are five reasons we are excited about this new version of the Maverick.

#1: Off-Road Ready

The Maverick Tremor Off-Road Package, available on the XLT and Lariat trim levels, was made specifically for those who enjoy off-roading in their free time. If you live near the hills, creeks, and fields that make up the Zionsville area, you probably either know someone who goes off-roading or you’ve been going off-road yourself whenever you have a spare moment. Many individuals prefer Jeeps for off-roading activities, but lately, Ford has been making strides to corner some of the off-road market, hence the introduction of the Tremor Package.

The difference between the regular Maverick and the Maverick with the Tremor Package is that the Tremor is built for off-roading, complete with an all-wheel drive system and five drive modes that can be changed based on the type of off-roading you’re engaging in. Trail Control, a driver assistance feature that acts as an off-road specific cruise control so that the driver can concentrate on navigating more rough, rugged terrain, is also included. You’ll enjoy a one-inch lift for navigating over things like rocks, water, and fallen trees, along with springs and dampers, half-shafts, and a transmission cooler, all of which make for a more comfortable, safer ride.

#2: Looks That Go Beyond the Surface

While the Tremor Package does have some exterior and interior design special features, it also highlights some essential parts of the Maverick. The Tremor Package colors are orange, gray, and black, perfect for those who want to look cool but also care about safety. The orange coloring is used on the wheels, the tow hooks, and the grille of the truck, showcasing the tow hooks, especially, which are mounted on the front bumper, along with skid plates. Tow hooks are necessary if you plan to do some serious off-roading, as they can be essential for getting you are a friend out of the mud.

Along with the orange, gray, and black coloring of the wheels, the tires themselves are all-terrain tires, meaning just about any place is navigable with the Maverick Tremor’s rough and tumble equipment. Whether your road has pavement or dirt, your all-terrain tires will give you improved traction. The lower front fascia will improve your approach angle, and skid plates are included to protect the underside of your vehicle from the rocks and trees you may find yourself driving over.

The interior has black seats with orange stitching, as well as stitched-on Tremor logos. However, if that isn’t enough for you, there are some additional exterior accents you can get when you purchase the Tremor Appearance Package. This package will give you a gray roof and mirror caps along with black side graphics.

#3: Compact Size & Four-Cylinder Engine Mean More Efficiency

Because the Maverick is a compact pickup, and the Tremor Package comes exclusively with the 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, you won’t have to gas up as often. That means you can stay off-road longer without having to worry about refueling or paying out the nose to fill up the gas tank. Many people balk at the thought of filling up the tank of a pickup, but thankfully, the combination of size and engine for the Tremor Off-Road Package prevents drivers from having to fork over hard-earned cash every other day to fuel their vehicle.

Although it might be smaller than the average pickup, the Maverick Tremor utilizes its space well, with plenty of storage inside and outside in the truck bed. There are plenty of spaces for your fishing equipment, camping gear, and food, as well as enough room to take a few friends with you on a trip without having them feeling cramped. There are also four full doors, meaning everyone can get out and stretch with no difficulties letting the passengers in the back out. We know there are many pickups that just have two doors or those little half doors for the back, making it awkward to enter and exit.

#4: Little to No Competition in the Market

The Maverick Tremor is a unique vehicle, standing out for its size, power, and abilities. There aren’t many compact trucks to begin with, and even fewer that can go off-road through rugged conditions. In fact, the only other vehicle capable of going somewhat toe-to-toe with the Tremor is the Hyundai Santa Cruz, although there are some downsides to the Santa Cruz, which include a smaller truck bed and higher pricing. If you’re looking for a compact pickup that can go off-road and look good doing it while also hauling all your things, then the Maverick Tremor is the best option for you.

Of course, no one remains at the top of the food chain for long in the vehicle business, so it stands to reason that, eventually, more compact pickups with off-road packages will appear. However, Ford has set quite a high bar with the Maverick, and it’s going to be hard for any other brand to compete. As of right now, the only two names in the game are Ford and Hyundai, and with Ford being one of the most popular brands in the US, it stands to reason that the Maverick Tremor will do better in the long run than the Santa Cruz. For those who value an American brand that is known for pushing the limits, increasing value and efficiency, and long-lasting vehicles, the Ford Maverick is perfect.

#5: Versatility, Dependability, and Innovation

You may be looking for an off-road vehicle, but it’s nice to know that the Maverick Tremor can also easily take on paved roads. With such versatility, you won’t have to buy another vehicle as your daily commuter. You can just show off your pickup around town during the week and then disappear into the wilderness for the weekend. Because of Ford’s commitment to reliability, they have made the Tremor incredibly durable, thanks to its new suspension system, Trail Control, and other features like the skid plates and all-terrain tires. Knowing you can depend on your vehicle through inclement weather, rugged conditions, and daily driving means you won’t have to worry about your pickup having to be taken in for repairs every few months.

Ford has managed to remain at the top of the game for quite some time, and the reason might be that they’re willing to innovate. They consider drivers’ opinions when designing new elements, adding features, or creating an entirely new vehicle for the roster. This has been a long-standing tradition of the Ford company, and we don’t see any reason it’ll stop any time soon.

The Maverick Tremor Is a Fantastic Truck for Those Who Enjoy the Wild Outdoors

Even if you don’t get to go off-roading as much as you’d like, if you own a Maverick with the Tremor Off-Road Package, the possibility is always there. You could, at the drop of a hat, pack up your things, load the Maverick, and go off in search of adventure. You’ll love seeing it in your driveway, knowing that whenever you get the chance, you can hightail it to wilder parts of Indiana and enjoy exploring forests, dried-up creek beds, and dirt roads. Compact and off-road equipped, the Maverick with the Tremor Off-Road Package is ready to go off the pavement.
