Among those that stand out, and also remain a top seller is the Ford F-150. So what keeps the F-150 at the top? Here are five reasons:

One of the things Ford puts into the F-150 is patented products that are unique to only this truck. One of these unique features is the LED side-mirror spotlights. If you have ever been on the side of the road at night changing a tire, you know how difficult that task is. The poor visibility makes the job harder than it normally is. However, with the LED side-mirror spotlights, it is like changing a tire during the day. What a fantastic feature to have.  

Remote Tailgate

Another unique feature only found in the Ford F-150 is the remote-controlled tailgate. No longer do you have to set your cargo down, so that you can use both hands to lower your tailgate. Simply push a button on your F-150 key fob and watch as your tailgate automatically lowers itself.

Pro Trailer Backup Assist

For those of you who tow items, you know the difficulty that is associated with backing a trailer up. This is no longer a problem with the Ford F-150. The F-150 has what is called the Pro Trailer Backup Assist system that allows you to control the steering of your trailer by the push and turn of a button. All you do is push a button to turn it on, turn the knob so that the backup camera guidance is pointed in the right direction, and the system does all the steering for you. You have to admit this is impressive.

Eco-Boost Engine

Most trucks that are comparable to the Ford F-150 have a V8 engine, and until recent years that was what you found in the F-150 as well. However, a couple of years ago, Ford began offering a turbocharged, 3.5-liter V6 engine. Now Ford consumers have a more eco-friendly engine that still generates a great amount of power with 325 horsepower, and 375 pounds-feet of torque.

Ford Tough

The slogan for Ford trucks is “Ford Tough” and that toughness is greatly illustrated in the design of the Ford F-150. Not only is this truck built with military-grade aluminum steel, but the aluminum is also heat-treated. Heat-treating is a process developed by Ford that makes this metal practically twice as strong as traditional metal. Which truck would you prefer to be in — the regularly enforced steel one, or the “Ford Tough” one?
