5 Changes to Expect in Ford’s 2017 Lineup

Every year car enthusiasts look forward to seeing what each manufacturer plans to put on the market, and this coming year Ford has a great lineup. You will see improvements to old standbys, as well as the launch of one incredible car we have waited years to see. So let’s check out the five biggest changes to expect from Ford’s 2017 lineup.

2017 Ford Escape

The Escape has been a great car in the Ford line for many years, but this year it is getting revamped. Starting under the hood, you now have three engine choices: the 2.5 L iVCT I-4 engine, the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. You will also notice exterior changes, such as the strong chiseled lines and more aggressive grille. Inside you will see a few changes, as well, such as the new, roomier center console and the optional SYNC 3. All in all, Ford has taken a great car and made it exceptional.

2017 Ford Raptor

The changes you will find in the 2017 Raptor aren’t where you can see them; they are behind the scenes kinds of changes. For starters, the new Raptor is constructed of a high-strength aluminum alloy that lightens the truck by 500 pounds. Then the engine has received a boost — literally — with the 24-valve, high-output, 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Combine that with the 10-speed automatic transmission, and you have a light truck with plenty of power to get up and go.

2017 Ford Super Duty

Similar to the Ford Raptor, the 2017 Ford Super Duty will primarily see structural changes. It, too, is now built with a high-strength aluminum alloy that reduces its weight substantially. With this change, Ford also upgraded the suspension and steering to give this truck an incredibly smooth ride. Plus, it will feature bigger brakes, more torque, and larger hitches, making this a real super duty truck.

2017 Ford Fusion

The 2017 Ford Fusion’s overall design is similar to that of the 2016, with the exception of the new front grille and the optional SYNC 3 feature. However, you will find two new trim levels: the Platinum and the Fusion Sport. With the Platinum, you will have premium leather, wood trim, and chrome accents. In the Sport, there is a 2.7-liter, turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 engine with all-wheel drive.

2017 Ford GT

This year Ford is releasing the supercar you have all waited for since 2008 — the Ford GT. This two-seater race car has a twin turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that generates 600 horsepower. It has an incredibly aerodynamic design that includes a buttress that adds to the airflow and reduces drag. There is a rear wing that retracts and deploys to increase the car’s aerodynamics as well as its super cool appearance. The winged doors scream futuristic, along with every other aspect of this car — you know you can’t wait to see it.
