2022 Ford F-250 Specs

New technology, new colors, and a new attitude define the 2022 Ford F-250. Bigger and more capable than the average light-duty pickup truck, the F-250 is the Super Duty option for those who need a reliable three-quarter-ton pickup that can tow, haul, and trailer some of the most demanding loads from one destination to the next. With all-new, improved features and customization options for 2022, there are a lot of reasons to opt for the Ford Super Duty.
New for the model year is the inclusion of the all-new and improved SYNC 4 technology. This new and improved tech suite adds additional wireless functionality for smart devices and improved HD touchscreen capabilities. The convenience doesn’t end there, though. An all-new Lariat Sport Appearance Package has been added to the lineup, along with the Black Appearance Package. This is in addition to all new colors made available for the interior, which includes the Baja interior for the Lariat, while the Limited is now available along with an Admiral Blue/Light Slate interior.
The F-250 is available in a total of 10 different exterior color schemes. Atlas Blue is new to the lineup for this year, joining the likes of Race Red, Oxford White, Iconic Silver, Rapid Red Metallic, Star White Metallic, Stone Gray, Agate Black, Antimatter Blue, and Carbonized Gray. The 2022 F-250 is available in six different trim formats, including the starter XL trim, followed by the XL, the Lariat, the King Ranch, the Platinum, and the Limited.

Performance

When you need a heavy-duty pickup for heavy-duty tasks, you need a reliable selection of powertrains to handle the challenge. Not every engine is designed to handle the loads that trucks like the F-250 have been built to tackle, but Ford’s lineup of heavy-duty V8 engines are more than capable of ensuring that the F-250 can tow, trailer, and haul whatever you need. This is thanks to the power produced by the 6.2-liter “Boss” V8, the absolutely massive 7.3-liter “Godzilla” V8, and the mammoth 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbocharged V8 diesel engine.
The 6.2-Liter V8 and 7.3-Liter Engine Options
The 6.2-liter Boss V8 comes standard with the F-250, producing an impressive 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. The “Boss” V8 is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with flex-fuel capability. When you need more power to boot, the available 7.3-liter “Godzilla” V8 produces 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque and comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It features variable cam timing to not only optimize fuel efficiency but high-output power as well. When you need low-end torque from a gas-powered V8, the “Godzilla” is the engine you turn to.
The 6.7-Liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel Engine
Finally, there’s the 6.7-liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8 engine. This 36,000-psi fuel-injected system produces 475 hp and a massive 1050 lb-ft of torque. When you need the absolute heaviest of heavy-duty engines for a three-quarter-ton pickup truck, the Power Stroke Turbo Diesel is the answer, hands-down. The Ford Super Duty F-250 is also available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive format thanks to an electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case, with optional settings for two-wheel or four-wheel high/low settings.
With added heavy-duty gas-powered shock absorbers, reinforced coil-over spring suspension, and a front stabilizer bar, you can take the F-250 across all sorts of roadways and terrain without feeling like you’re fighting to keep control of the vehicle. Added features such as a diesel engine exhaust break for the Power Stroke and TorShift with available drive modes for the 10-speed automatic (including Normal, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Deep Sand/Snow, and Eco), you can easily tackle off-road work site challenges, or easily manage through bad weather, slippery roads, or uneven terrain.
Capacity

The most important thing about a heavy-duty pickup is being able to handle the heavy towing and payload challenges it was made for. For a three-quarter-ton truck like the 2022 Ford F-250, you need to know that it can handle heavy-duty trailering and towing without giving you problems. Thanks to the powertrain selections and built Ford tough chassis, the F-250 is more than ready for whatever payload or towing workloads you face.
Towing Capacity
With the “Boss” V8, you’re looking at a maximum tow capacity of 15,800 lbs. This is excellent for those who need something that scales above 10,000 lbs worth of towing but usually needs to handle loads less than 16,000 lbs. For improved tow and trailering capacity, the “Godzilla” V8 tops out at 19,500 lbs when it comes to towing and trailering capability. You can hitch fairly large loads to the F-250 when equipped with the “Godzilla” with no problems whatsoever. For the absolute top-end in towing capacity, the Power Stroke Turbo Diesel is the answer. It nearly doubles what most basic light-duty pickups can achieve, topping out at 22,800 lbs worth of max conventional towing capacity.
Payload Capacity
If payload cargo hauls are what you’re after, then you’ll be pleased to know that the 2022 F-250 comes in a couple of different bed configurations. You can get the three-quarter full-size pickup with either a 6.75 ft box or an 8 ft box. You get up to 65.4 cu.ft. of cargo volume in the standard bed or up to 78.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume in the longer bed box. When it comes to payload capacity, the Power Stroke nets you up to 3,940 lbs worth of maximum cargo, while the “Godzilla” V8 allows you to haul up to 4,260 lbs worth of cargo.
Cab Configurations
When it comes to interior capacity, you can sit up to six people inside the F-250, depending on the cab configuration. The cab can be configured based on the wheelbase length, which includes a 142-inch wheelbase, a 148-inch wheelbase, and a 160-inch wheelbase. The available cab configurations include a Regular Cab with two doors, a SuperCab, and the four-door Crew Cab.
Technology

The 2022 F-250 is chock full of improved tech over the previous model year, including the all-new SYNC 4 Technology. This gives you wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, now accessible on an HD touchscreen that spans up to 12-inches diagonally. Thanks to the additional 8-inch LCD productivity screen, you can also get all the driver display information you need during travel, allowing you to view towing, fuel, range, and more.
Connectivity and Entertainment
With Bluetooth voice-activated integration, you can also navigate using voice commands or keep connected by turning the F-250 into a Wi-Fi hotspot thanks to the 4G LTE connectivity provided by FordPass. Multiple available USB ports also make it easy to keep additional devices charged while on the go, while those who prefer staying mobile at all times will likely prefer taking advantage of the available wireless smartphone charging pad. Fleet models also come standard with an Upfitter Interface Module for those who need a heavy-duty, three-quarter-ton truck for business purposes.
The entertainment features are also an important factor when considering the overall driving experience of a vehicle, and a heavy-duty truck is no different. Depending on trim, the F-250 comes with the Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker surround sound subwoofer set that is available with SiriusXM 360L.
Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology
Powered by the Ford Co-Pilot360 technology, those riding in the Super Duty pickup will appreciate built-in features like a standard rearview camera mounted on the tailgate, as well as an available rearview camera mounted above the stop lamp, perfect for those needing an extra trailer-view camera. With the standard inclusion of BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with trailer coverage, as well as pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and forward collision alerts, the F-250 is giving you an extra set of eyes to help see what’s around you and intervene in any potential collisions. With added adaptive cruise control, available automatic high beams, reverse sensing, and lane-keeping alerts with adaptive steering, you not only have a very powerful full-size pickup in the 2022 Ford F-250 but a very reliable and safe one as well.
