The Many Faces of the 2023 Ford F-150

The new 2023 Ford F-150 is pushing the limits of what we expect in a truck. An iconic symbol of hard work and rugged sensibility, the Ford F-150 has been a leader in the industry since its inception. Known for power, size, and reliability, this truck is a truly superior vehicle, and it has only gotten better with the 2023 outing. Whether you are window shopping or on the hunt for that perfect Ford F-150 for sale, we’ve got you covered here at Pearson Ford. With eight trims to choose from, you can make the Ford F-150 everything you ever wanted in a truck. Ranging from the far from the stripped-down XL to the “no expenses spared” Raptor, these trims have virtually everything.
Ford F-150 XL
The most cost-conscious trim of the set, the XL is brimming with state-of-the-art tech and safety features, making this an excellent choice for the lowest price tag. The XL is unmistakably a Ford, with a sturdy yet sleek profile and the iconic blue oval welcoming you to the Ford club. The interior lacks frills but still gives you exactly what you would want to keep your day running smoothly.
The XL comes standard with Ford’s SYNC 4 connectivity software meant to make life easier with hands-free calling, voice recognition, and an optional navigation system. It also comes equipped with FordPass Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot and a convenient eight-inch touchscreen. Add in automatic emergency braking, fade-to-off interior lighting, an outside temperature display, and a reverse sensing system, and this will feel like the most lush work truck you’ve ever had. Not to mention Wi-Fi; need I say more?
The XL comes with a powerful 3.3L V6 engine, producing 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. With great torque comes great capability. An F-150 XL with trailering equipment can get up to 8,200 lbs of towing and 1,985 lbs of payload. Even at the base level, this is a workhorse of a vehicle. With so many features, this won’t be just a workday work truck. Weekend adventures are sure to await you and your family with its six-person seating capacity with the SuperCrew cab configuration.
The 2023 XL also comes standard with an upgraded suspension system, using a coil spring in the front and a leaf spring in the back. Coil and leaf springs do a better job of absorbing vibrations and creating a smoother ride than some other suspension set-ups. There are numerous drive modes that come standard, depending on which drivetrain model you get. The 4×2 offers Normal, ECO, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and Trail. The 4×4 models offer Normal, ECO, Sport, Tow/Haul, Deep Snow/Sand, and Mud/Ruts. Off-roading should be a piece of cake with all the specialized modes available.
All-in-all, the XL is powerful and reliable. The suspension minimizes noise and vibrations while also adding to your off-roading experience. The drive modes make it possible to use the XL as a dependable work truck or take it for a spin and see what excitement awaits.
Ford F-150 XLT
The next level trim is the XLT. This trim level offers the same great features as the XL with a few more upgrades. One of the biggest upgrades is the addition of the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 Technology. This is a suite of driver-assist features. The features included are:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking
- BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert
- Lane Departure Warning System
- Rearview Camera
- Automatic High Beam
- Reverse Brake Assist
- Reverse Sensing
- Post-Crash Braking
- Driver Monitoring System
BLIS is a fantastic addition for any truck with towing capabilities. The Blind Spot Information System can detect and alert you if someone is in the blind zone of your vehicle or trailer. BLIS not only makes the road safer for you, but it also makes it safer for other drivers. If you want a little more than the already loaded XLT, there are some package add-ons available for this trim. The Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0, the FX4 Off-Road Package, and the Max Trailer Tow Package are just a few.
Ford F-150 Lariat
The Lariat is next, with a pretty slick upgrade to the engine. The Lariat sports a 2.7L EcoBoost Turbo V6 that produces 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, your towing maximum reaches 10,100 lbs while payload tops out at 2,480 lbs.
The Lariat builds off the XLT, coming standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 Technology. The drive modes mentioned in the XL trim come standard on the Lariat if you select the corresponding drivetrain. Additionally, another drive mode called Rock Crawl is included with this trim. Rock Crawl can be achieved by adding the FX4 Off-Road Package.
Two additional optional packages for the Lariat are the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0. The Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 includes a whole slew of additional driver assist features. The Features are:
- Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go
- Lane Centering
- Speed Sign Recognition
- Evasive
- Intersection assistance
- Connected Built-In Navigation
The exterior does have a few upgrades compared to the XL and the XLT, like zone lighting and LED mirror-mounted spotlights. However, the interior is still sporting that rugged yet streamlined look that the first two trims have.
Ford F-150 King Ranch
The next trim will take you out of the city and drive you right into farm life. The Ford F-150 King Ranch is full of Western flair, with an interior to match the name that has been given a luxurious upgrade from the Lariat, with a gorgeous rich leather interior. Heated bucket seats in the front and heated seats in the second row make this trim feel even more extravagant. Real wood accents warm up the leather, and modern touches like rain-sensing wipers, ambient lighting, and a wireless charging pad make the ride a true experience.
If you want your F-150 to have the best payload capability, we would suggest opting for the available 5.0L V8 that produces 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can get up to 3,325 lbs of payload. Plus, with additional towing technology, this beast of a truck is a perfect addition for a rancher or farmer. It includes trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, and for the 4×4 option, it has a two-speed automatic four-wheel drive system with neutral towing capability.
With all the added tech features that the previous trims have, the King Ranch is a truck meant to be enjoyed. The attention to detail in the interior is next level. We dare you not to fall in love with this modern rustic Ford F-150 King Ranch.
Ford F-150 Platinum
If you want something lux, the Platinum is the trim to get. The interior is warm leather with wood accents throughout. Different from the King Ranch, this interior is a solid, rich leather. The Platinum features seats specifically designed to minimize fatigue and keep you as comfortable as possible. Active Motion seat surfaces contour to your body and can even offer a gentle massage.
Building on many of the features from previous trims, the Platinum also includes a 360-degree Camera package, designed to add more safety and convenience. It even includes Intersection Assist, which uses smart tech to detect possible collisions when making left-hand turns. The Platinum is designed with the driver in mind. With a bit more to offer than the Lariat, this is a great option for anyone looking for a powerful and reliable truck that can make you feel safe and comfortable at every turn. There is no doubt that this truck will become a Ford favorite.

Ford F-150 Limited
Limited may be the name of the trim, but the options are far from that. The Limited trim, much like the King Ranch, comes with a plush leather interior, but this time in light slate. The interior provides a more modern feel, which is appropriate considering all its additional tech features.
The engine in this trim is anything but ordinary. The 3.5L PowerBoost Turbo V6 Hybrid combines gas and electricity to power this truck like never before. Producing 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque, this truck is a true beast. A towing capacity of up to 12,700 lbs and a hauling capacity of 2,120 lbs maximum means this is a class leader in trucking.
If a work truck is what you need, the F-150 Limited has the unbelievable capability of being used as a generator! With Pro Power Onboard, which has 7.2 kW of power, you can charge tools, camping supplies, or a whole household of smart devices. The sky’s the limit with the Limited.
State-of-the-art tech like Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Trailer Reverse Guidance, and Onboard Scales with Smart Hitch make towing and hauling easier than ever. Plus, with the upgraded Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 which includes BlueCruise, this truck is a smart investment. BlueCruise seems like a feature of the future, offering hands-free driving in designated Blue Zones.
The Ford F-150 Limited is a brute. Its powerful motor and impressive torque truly stand out. The addition of technology like Smart Hitch, which monitors payload and creates safer towing conditions, makes this truck a go-to choice for road or work.
Ford F-150 Tremor
The Ford F-150 Tremor is made for exploration. With the specially tuned suspension, off-roading will be smoother and softer, improving your comfort and ride. Increased ground clearance, a wider stance, and large grabber tires make conquering difficult terrain easy. The suspension is specially designed to provide softer damping when driving at lower speeds and for off-roading conditions. More control means a safer ride. Plus, the Tremor is powered by the 5.0L V8, which provides insane power and torque.
The Tremor comes standard with several specialized trail features like Trail Control with 1-Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist. Trail Control is a feature that functions somewhat like cruise control but for the trail. It uses Trail 1-Pedal Drive to sense when the driver’s foot is off the accelerator and initiates the brakes, and the Trail Turn Assist to decrease the truck’s overall turn radius.

Ford F-150 Raptor
A standout from the rest of the trims, the Raptor looks ready to battle the Earth. This model starts strong with a powerful engine. The 3.5L High-Output EcoBoost V6 delivers 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. That is the most powerful output of the line-up. To balance that power, fans are built into the cooling system to help everything run smoothly.
To match the engine, Ford has armed the Raptor with the largest-ever shocks to make the off-roading experience unbelievable. FOX Live Valve Internal bypass shocks are paired with control technology that is truly revolutionary. So many other details go into the Raptor to make it an incredible off-roading machine.
In case that isn’t enough for you, the Raptor has been equipped with a five-link rear suspension and the longest coil springs in its class. With superior software, the Raptor handles like a dream, with a more responsive throttle, impressive acceleration, and overall better handling. Plus, an additional drive mode appropriately named Rock Crawl offers further off-roading support.
There Are No Losers in This Lineup
